Minimalist design keeps the footprint of the treehouse small. Where the family gathers, eats and entertains, there are plentiful views and space.
A chalet is, at its best, a place of respite and recharging. It’s a place where we can return to the simplicity of life. The client grasped this as well as anyone when they articulated an unusual and captivating request. They wanted a contemporary treehouse. Back-to basics. But comfortable. And efficient during cold winter months.
Design Insight - Prioritizing Space
Tiny Rooms
The master bedroom is spacious, while the other two bedrooms and three guest rooms conserve space and don’t exceed 60 sq. ft. each, instead promoting socialising in the main space.
The Main Room
One big open space. It’s the view you’re treated to through the windows to the valley below. And it perfectly describes the family room, too. Those same windows are positioned to capture the suns rays all day long.
Design Insight - Zen Room
To contrast with the bright open treehouse, the four-season zen room creates space for quiet contemplation, to read a book or watch the sun set. Darker grounding materials and low furniture help set the tone. Beside it, an outdoor fire pit adds a warm glow.
